The Bachelor viewers became acquainted with Joey, a 27-year-old tennis pro from Koloa, HI, when he appeared on Season 20 of The Bachelorette, which starred Charity Lawson, this past summer.

Joey was announced as The Bachelor star for Season 28 during The Bachelorette's live Season 20 finale, which featured Charity Lawson rejecting Joey in second place and getting engaged to her winner, Dotun Olubeko, in late August.

The Bachelor viewers were already introduced to one of Joey's bachelorettes -- Lea Cayanan, a 23-year-old account manager from Waipahu, HA -- during the finale of Charity's The Bachelorette season.

Joey and Lea introduced themselves to each other in front of a screaming studio audience shortly after Joey was first announced as The Bachelor star.

The Bachelor host Jesse Palmer gave Lea a special envelope -- containing something that will "help" Lea and also shake up the season, during the finale -- and he asked her not to open it until Night 1 of filming.

Joey's group of The Bachelor bachelorettes range in age from 23 to 31-years-old. Only four of the ladies are age 30 or older.

In the season premiere, Joey will meet his pool of The Bachelor bachelorettes and enjoy the season's initial cocktail reception with them before sending some of them home at Season 28's first Rose Ceremony.

By the end of the night, only 22 bachelorettes will remain in the running to win The Bachelor star's heart and receive Season 28's final rose.

Let's learn more about Joey's impressive group of The Bachelor bachelorettes who will be competing to win his heart and hopefully become his future wife.
