A special Wednesday broadcast of "Survivor: The Amazon" on March 26th won its time period (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) in viewers, households, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 and topped "America Idol" in viewers, households and adults 25-54 in the common half hour (8:30-9:00 PM) in which the two series went head-to-head, according to final Nielsen ratings.

"Survivor: The Amazon" was first in households (10.1/16), viewers (16.67m), adults 25-54 (7.4/17), boomers (8.2/18), women 25-54 (8.2/18), men 25-54 (6.6/16), adults 18-49 (6.3/16) and second in adults 18-34 (4.8/14).

From 8:30-9:00 PM, "Survivor: The Amazon" topped "American Idol" in viewers (17.41m vs. 17.02m), households (10.6/16 vs. 9.7/15) and adults 25-54 (7.9/17 vs. 7.7/17).

For the night, CBS was second in viewers (13.36m), households (8.6/13), adults 18-49 (4.8/12) and adults 25-54 (5.8/13).
