Selma Alameri is a bachelorette once again.

Alameri, a 29-year-old real estate developer from San Diego, CA, and former eighth-season The Bachelorette bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. have ended their short-lived relationship, Us Weekly reported.

"Obviously we shared a common interest, when two people go through this [the show], it's easy to relate to them," Luyendyk Jr., a 31-year-old professional race car driver from Scottsdale, AZ, told Us.

"That's what kind of drew me to her in the first place. She's obviously a beautiful girl but we decided it was probably best for us not to date."

News of Luyendyk Jr. and Alameri's relationship first surfaced late last month.

Luyendyk Jr. previously dated former Bachelor Ben Flajnik's ex-fiancee Courtney Robertson following their very public October split, however, Luyendyk Jr. and Robertson also called it quits early this year.

"I just want to keep my relationships private in the future. That's the reason Courtney and I split up and I probably should have learned from that, but hindsight is 20/20 and I'm happy to move forward and have a private relationship," added the race car driver.

Sean Lowe eliminated Alameri from The Bachelor's recently-concluded seventeenth season in the process of narrowing down his bachelorettes to six women.

Luyendyk Jr. finished as The Bachelorette star Emily Maynard's runner-up behind winner Jef Holm -- one spot ahead of Lowe's own finish in the competition for Maynard's final rose.
