The Real Housewives of Atlanta is reportedly adding a new cast member for its upcoming third season.

"Phaedra Parks will join the cast this season as the sixth housewife," Jonathan Jaxson, the former publicist of cast member Kim Zolciak, told E! News in a Tuesday report.

"I know from multiple cast members that she was added and now there will be six, but they plan to slowly weed out one of the women by the end of this season."

Bravo renewed The Real Housewives of Atlanta in January and subsequently confirmed that Zolciak, Kandi Burruss, Lisa Wu Hartwell, NeNe Leakes, and Sheree Whitfield would all be returning for the third season.

However according to Jaxson, Wu Hartwell will be leaving the show because she currently resides 40 minutes outside of Atlanta -- which is apparently a problem for production.

Zolciak stated last week during an appearance on a local Florida television station that The Real Housewives of Atlanta would be adding a sixth cast member but only stated that the woman was an Atlanta-area attorney, according to E! News, which added Parks is an attorney.
