Jesse James' move to Austin apparently would have been a no-go without estranged wife Sandra Bullock's blessing.

"Jesse would not relocate his family to Austin without consulting with her," a source told Us Weekly in the magazine's July 5 issue.

"This has been in the works for a while. Austin is Sandra; it's not him."

Last weekend, attorney John Schilling stated the former Monster Garage and Jesse James is a Dead Man star would be moving in late July from his current home in Orange County, CA to be closer to Bullock's home in Austin.

Earlier this year, James was accused of carrying out an 11-month affair with tattoo model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee while Bullock was in Atlanta filming The Blind Side -- for which she won the Oscar for Best Actress.

Several additional women then also made similar claims, resulting in Bullock filing for divorce in April.

While James has publicly stated he's "100% sure" that Bullock won't take him back after he admitted to cheating on her, the source confirmed his ex-wife's claim that he's hopeful she'll take him back.

"He'd like to reconcile," the source told Us.
