Report: Jailed ex-'Idol' Jessica Sierra pregnant, hearing rescheduled

By Christopher Rocchio, 12/21/2007

Just when it appeared the saga surrounding Jessica Sierra couldn't get any weirder, the jailed former American Idol fourth-season finalist is reportedly pregnant.

Sierra -- who is currently being held in Hillsborough County's Falkenburg Road Jail on charges of disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest without violence and probation violation -- is pregnant with her first child, TMZ reported Thursday.

Sources told TMZ that the father of Sierra's child is a "rapper," adding the 22-year-old Tampa, FL resident is "ecstatic" about the news.  In addition, TMZ reported Sierra is currently being held in Falkenburg Road Jail's infirmary where she's been placed on a "pregnancy diet."

Sierra was arrested earlier this month on the aforementioned charges after she was booted from Ybor City's Full Moon Salon and allegedly became physically and verbally combative with police.  Sierra subsequently pleaded not guilty to the charges and was ordered to remain in prison without bail on probation violation charges "at least" until her hearing, which was scheduled for last Thursday.

However according to a Thursday report by Tampa Bay's WTVT-TV Fox affiliate, a judge decided to continue the case on December 14, meaning the former Idol finalist will stay in the slammer until a January 7 hearing.

Sierra was on probation stemming from an April arrest when she was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, possession of cocaine and introduction of contraband into a detention facility. She pleaded no contest to felony drug and battery charges and was sentenced to 12-months probation and random drug screening.

In addition,  Sierra was also required to complete her drug-rehab after-care program -- which was filmed by VH1 for Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, a new reality series that will follow Loveline host David Drew "Dr. Drew" Pinsky as he chronicles the detoxification and treatment of several celebrities.

Sierra's attorney, John Fitzgibbons, asked Pinsky to speak on Sierra's behalf at her hearing, according to a December 13 report by The Tampa Tribune.  Pinsky accepted and will speak at the January 7 hearing, WTVT reported.

"I have made myself available," Pinsky told The Tribune. "If I can get her to a therapeutic environment, court-ordered, it would be a good thing for her."

Pinsky characterized Sierra as "courageous" during filming for Celebrity Rehab, which is scheduled to premiere Thursday, January 10 at 10PM ET/PT.

"Sometimes, you have to re-treat and re-treat and re-treat," Pinsky told The Tribune about addiction.

As if things could get any worse, TMZ also reported Vivid Entertainment has released a sex tape starring Sierra.
