An invitation-only memorial service is being planned in Chicago for three slain members of singer-actress Jennifer Hudson's family, a funeral home said.

Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were recently shot to death in what police have described as "domestic-related" slayings.

The estranged husband of Hudson's sister Julia has been called a person of interest in the triple homicide and is being held on a parole violation. He has not, however, been charged in the family members' deaths.

The Chicago Sun-Times quoted the Hudson Funeral Home as saying the private memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Apostolic Church of God in Dorchester.

The newspaper said a representative from the funeral home is expected to announce Friday whether the family will hold a public service, as well.

The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Hudson-King Domestic Violence Protection Fund, care of Seaway Bank and Trust, P.O. Box 19522, Chicago, Ill., 60619.
