MTV orders new 'Teen Mom' reality series spinoff of '16 and Pregnant'

MTV has announced it has ordered Teen Mom, a spinoff of its 16 & Pregnant reality series that will continue to follow four young moms as they struggle with the challenges of their first year of motherhood.

Each Teen Mom episode will combine stories of the four teenage girls featured in 16 & Pregnant's first season as they navigate through various issues ranging from marriage and financial support to education and employment -- all while facing the new responsibility of being a mother and trying to create their own family.

In addition to ordering Teen Mom, MTV announced that it will air a 16 & Pregnant marathon on Monday, September 7.

The marathon will begin at 11AM ET/PT with an encore presentation of 16 and Pregnant: Life After Labor, a first-season reunion special that was hosted by Celebrity Rehab star David "Dr. Drew" Pinsky and discussed each girl's episode and updated viewers on how their life was going.

The encore presentation will be followed by all six 16 & Pregnant first-season episodes beginning at 12:30PM ET/PT.

The Labor Day marathon will be hosted by some of the moms who will be documented in Teen Mom.

MTV renewed 16 & Pregnant for a second season in July.
