Airris and Jasmine were initially very hopeful about their future together, but then Airris realized during his honeymoon that he and Jasmine lacked physical chemistry, and they've been trying to grow their marriage and build intimacy -- without having sex -- ever since.

During the March 15 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty, Airris was asked if he's "afraid" of intimacy with Jasmine.

"I'm afraid because I've had past situations where, like, sex kind of ruined things," Airris confessed.

"I don't think that's fair to [Jasmine], just to do it because."

Airris, a self-declared "sexual person" with extensive experience in the bedroom -- including a long list of sexual partners and multiple orgies -- suggested he was being careful with Jasmine's feelings and was walking on eggshells with her as a result.

Airris, who had never been in love before and also cheated on only serious girlfriend, decided to adopt a different approach in his relationship with Jasmine hoping for a successful outcome this time around.

And Airris' approach was to take sex off the table one month into the Married at First Sight process.

"[I wanted] to get it out into the open and to stop getting asked about it," Airris shared with Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam.

"I feel like even for her, she was going, 'Maybe he'll come around this week. Maybe he'll come around [next] week.' So it was kind of like, 'Let's put it on the back burner and focus on the things that are good.'"

Airris admitted on Married at First Sight's latest Season 16 episode that he didn't feel like "the best person in the world" when telling his wife that he wasn't physically attracted to her.

Airris insisted he didn't think Jasmine was "ugly" but she's certainly "not my normal type."

Airris said, looks aside, maybe he'd be attracted to Jasmine if she was "hella funny" or had sexy unique style, but he said she wasn't doing or saying anything special to change his perspective of her.

However, Airris said he had no intention to throw in the towel and stop trying in his marriage.

Keshia then asked Airris for specifics on what he could do to work past the lack of immediate physical attraction or sexual chemistry.

"The best moments that we've had have been just going out and doing stuff, like on dates. We both like live music, right? So we're just trying to create more of those moments," Airris explained.

"I haven't done the best of a job, but now I have a blueprint and so I kind of know what works. That's what I need to make more of a concerted effort to do."

While attempting to build a deeper connection with Jasmine, Airris said he learned a lot about himself through the MAFS experience.

"I'm learning, No. 1, that I'm okay with being abstinent," Airris noted.

"It's not even easy to keep telling someone, like, 'My physical attraction is not there.' So I'm learning how to be completely truthful and be completely honest -- and also to be patient with someone else's feelings. It's such a tough spot."

Keshia pointed out how Airris couldn't say it was Jasmine's situation to figure out, and he agreed.

Airris' Married at First Sight co-star Shaquille Dillon, who also appeared on the Afterparty broadcast, chimed in with praise for Jasmine, who accepted the fact she "could work on this" with Airris but wouldn't be willing to do the work alone.

"It means she's a team player," Shaquille reasoned. "She is still fighting for her marriage."

One month into marriage, Jasmine told the cameras that "a lot would have to change" for her and Airris to end up in a happy and successful marriage.

Jasmine declared that if Airris couldn't become attracted to her, she'd just have to accept it and move on.
