Lifetime to premiere Whitney Houston family's 'The Houstons' reality series on October 24

Lifetime has announced The Houstons: On Our Own, a new reality series which will follow Bobbi Kristina Brown and other loved ones left behind following pop music icon Whitney Houston's sudden passing, will premiere Wednesday, October 24 at 9PM ET/PT.

In addition to Bobbi Kristina, Whitney's daughter, The Houstons: On Our Own will also feature Whitney's sister-in-law and manager Pat Houston, Pat's daughter Rayah, Whitney's brother Gary and mother Cissy Houston, and family friend Nick Gordon. Whitney's friends and relatives will "try and pick up the pieces after her untimely death," according to the network.

The 14 episode half-hour series will chronicle Houston's family as they help each other cope with the loss of Whitney, focusing especially on Bobbi -- the 19-year-old daughter of Whitney and her former husband Bobby Brown and the only heir to her mother's estate who was known for breaking down emotionally and physically after Whitney's death.

Lifetime announced it had picked up The Houstons: On Our Own, originally titled The Houston Family Chronicles, in May. 

"The tragic loss of Whitney Houston left a void in the hearts of people all over the world, but certainly none more so than her beloved family," Lifetime executive Rob Sharenow said in a statement at the time.

"In this series, the multi-generations of the Houston family will bravely reveal their lives as they bond together to heal, love and grow."
