'L Word' star Jennifer Beals gives birth to baby girl

Actress Jennifer Beals and her husband, Ken L. Dixon, have welcomed their first child, a girl.

"The family is very happy and Jennifer and the baby are doing great," her publicist told People magazine Thursday. The baby's name has not been released.
Beals, 41, stars on Showtime's series, "The L Word," but is best known for her breakout role in the 1983 film "Flashdance." Dixon is a Canadian entrepreneur with two children from a previous marriage, People said.
