Kris Jenner is standing by Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's decision to name their new baby girl North West.

"I love the name North. I'm pro-North, absolutely!" Jenner said during a Tuesday appearance on The View.

"The way [Kim] explained it to me is that north means highest power, and she says that North is their highest point together. And I thought that was really sweet."

Joy Behar then asked Jenner, "It's not North Kardashian West, is it? It's just North West?"

"It's North West but you don't walk around calling somebody, 'Hi North West!' It's just North," Jenner replied.

Jenner added that she's unsure whether Kardashian and her rapper boyfriend have come up with a nickname for their daughter.

"I don't know what they decided on," the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star said.

The child's birth certificate recently obtained by TMZ did not list a middle name.

Kardashian prematurely gave birth to Baby North -- who reportedly arrived in good health -- about five weeks early at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on June 15. Us Weekly reported on Monday North's nickname is Nori and she was born weighing four pounds and 15 ounces.
