Kate Gosselin planned to "kill it" in a marathon event on the Las Vegas Strip, and according to the former Kate Plus 8 star, she succeeded.

Gosselin, who was sporting a "Finishing Is Winning" T-shirt, ran the full Rock n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon to benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America on Sunday night and completed the 26.2 miles in four hours, 59 minutes and 21 seconds, People reported.

"I'm not one to do anything lightly," the 36-year-old single mom of eight told People prior to running in the marathon.

"I either do it or I kill it. I guess this is considered killing it."

Gosselin has reportedly been a serious runner for three years and trained for the marathon by jogging the roads near her home in Wernersville, PA. She said she originally wanted to participate in the marathon to show her children that a little motivation can go a long way.

"I'm running this because I want to show that with dedication and determination anything is possible. I want them to remember this moment when their mom completed a marathon, knowing that nothing in life should stop them from attaining their goals," Gosselin explained.

"This will probably be one of the most painful messages I will ever impart to them."

Gosselin wasn't the only reality TV star in attendance at the event, which also included a half-marathon to raise money for the same charity.

Tenth-season American Idol finalist Casey Abrams sang "God Bless America" to kick things off, while thirteenth-season The Bachelor star Jason Mesnick and wife Molly Mesnick competed in the half-marathon event and both set personal records.
