Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani ousted from 'Dancing with the Stars'

Former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin and professional partner Tony Dovolani became the fourth couple eliminated from Dancing with the Stars' tenth season during Tuesday night's live results show broadcast on ABC.

Gosselin and Dovolani were ousted from the competition based on the combination of the Dancing with the Stars judges' scores they received during Monday night's performance show and the home viewer votes that were cast after the show, which had used a special "Movie Night" theme and featured the competition's eight remaining couples performing movie-inspired routines.

"My gut feelings are always right and it's okay," an emotional Gosselin told Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron after he revealed the couple's elimination and noted Gosselin had told him she felt she'd be going home Tuesday night earlier in the day.

"I had the opportunity.  I'm very, very honored to have been here.  I love everyone that I met, it was a great experience, and I'm sorry I'm crying, I'm a crybaby," she added as she began using a tissue to dab tears from her face.

"I had a wonderful teacher and honestly I can not wait to watch the rest of these people perform on Monday nights because they're all wonderful and they do a great job and I've really grown to love everyone.  Thank you."

Dovolani stepped in and offered his own comments when Gosselin initially told Bergeron and Dancing with the Stars co-host Brooke Burke that she needed a minute to compose herself before speaking.

"I'm very proud of Kate.  Because I know she gets a lot of criticism out there, and it is difficult -- especially knowing my wife is watching with three kids -- she has eight kids and she's a single mom so I give her all the credit for showing up.  As exhausted as she was, she still showed up every single day," he said.

"As your teacher, I am proud of you because I thought you danced beautifully.  You showed America it doesn't matter how much things go against you, you still came out here and gave it your best."

Gosselin and Dovolani had finished in last place on the judges' leaderboard for the second consecutive week after their Monday night performance of a The Breakfast Club-inspired foxtrot had received only 15 out of 30 possible points from Dancing with the Stars judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.

"Whatever is worthy of my time, I give my all.  And I did, even though maybe sometimes it didn't come across," Gosselin said after her elimination.  "I was scared to death most of the time to be out there... it's so much more than people, than even I think I thought.  It takes a lot."

All three judges had been critical of Gosselin's Monday night performance and deemed it a significant step back from the tango she and Dovolani had performed during last week's performance show.

"I am actually upset, because last week I thought something happened and now everything has gone back and it's really not good enough," Tonioli said on Monday.  "I think Tony could have had more life out of a frock on a coat hanger."

"If that had been a movie, I'd have walked out of the theater because there just wasn't enough going on for me.  This is Dancing with the Stars, not Strolling with the Stars," Goodman added on Tuesday night's broadcast.

However the judges had still lamented the possibility of Gosselin's departure before Bergeron announced her elimination.

"Kate is different.  She's not like our other stars but she's a star because she's like a housewife and she's getting out here and living the dream of all the people that watch our show," Inaba said.  "And I admire you so much for your determination, you are one tough cookie and you're no quitter."

Prior to Gosselin and Dovolani's elimination, Bergeron had revealed that former Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson and partner Damian Whitewood had been the other couple in the week's bottom two based on a combination of the judges' scoring and home viewer votes from Monday night's performances.

Anderson and Whitewood had finished in fifth place on Monday night's judging leaderboard after receiving 21 points for a quickstep performance that had been inspired by Nine to Five.

Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger and partner Derek Hough had topped the leaderboard after they performed a Pretty Woman-inspired tango which received 29 points from the judges.

Olympic gold-medal figure skater Evan Lysacek and professional partner Anna Trebunskaya -- who had previously topped the judges' leaderboard each of the prior two weeks -- had finished in second place after receiving 27 points for a rumba performance which had been inspired by Armageddon.

Former The Bachelor star Jake Pavelka and partner Chelsie Hightower had finished third on the leaderboard after they received 23 points for their performance of a Risky Business-inspired cha cha routine.  They were followed by ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who received had 22 points after performing a jive inspired by Pulp Fiction.

Actress, comedian and Clean House host Niecy Nash and partner Louis van Amstel had finished tied for sixth place with NFL star Chad Ochocinco and partner Cheryl Burke after they each received 18 points from the judges.

Nash and van Amstel had performed a jive inspired by La Bamba while Ochocinco and Burke had danced a quickstep inspired by The Jungle Book.
