Karina Smirnoff reportedly not dating actor Owen Wilson after all

Karina Smirnoff is reportedly not dating Owen Wilson despite a prior report that the Dancing with the Stars professional dancer and Hollywood actor have been seeing each other.

"There is nothing there," a source close to Smirnoff told E! News. "They ran into each other once randomly. They are friends but not dating at all."

Life & Style had reported Smirnoff and Wilson recently began dating on Wednesday.

"They've been out a few times," a source told the magazine.

"They're totally into each other," a second insider added.

Smirnoff had been engaged to former Major League Baseball pitcher Brad Penny but the pair ended their engagement and split late last year.

Smirnoff -- who won her first Dancing with the Stars title with celebrity partner J.R. Martinez on Dancing with the Stars' thirteenth season last fall -- began dating Penny in October 2009, shortly after she and fellow Dancing with the Stars professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy called off their engagement and ended their relationship. Penny then proposed a year later in October 2010.

Smirnoff and Penny had originally set a January 2012 date for their wedding date, but the 33-year-old dancer postponed the ceremony in October claiming her relationship was fine but the couple's careers were causing time constraints.

Penny has struggled in the majors the last several seasons and recently signed a deal to play for the Softbank Hawks of Japan's Pacific League for the upcoming 2012 baseball season.
