ABC has announced that Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin will serve as a The View co-host on the ABC talk show's September 14 and 15 broadcasts.
Gosselin's The View co-hosting duties will represent her first appearance ever on the show.
The View's new season will premiere live on Tuesday, September 8 at 11AM ET/PT. Additional co-hosts who will be filling in for Hasselbeck while she's on maternity leave include Meghan McCain, daughter of former GOP presidential candidate John McCain, on September 9 and 10; Latoya Jackson on Septmeber 16 and 18; and former Fox News Channel anchor E.D. Hill on September 23 and 24. The aforementioned guest co-hosts will all join The View regulars Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd. Gosselin filed for a no-fault divorce from her husband Jon in June -- on the same day that a heavily-hyped Jon & Kate Plus 8 broadcast featured the Gosselins publicly announcing their separation.
