Jef Holm says his brother Mike Holm is lying about his claims that Jef's relationship with Emily Maynard is on the rocks in the wake of a cheating scandal.

"This whole story is 100 percent false," Jef told People of the recent Us Weekly report which claims he and Maynard got into a blowout fight during a Holm family vacation after he discovered "explicit" text messages to and from another man in his fiancee's cellphone.

After Mike had confirmed to Us their report of the incident was completely true in a move that contradicted both Jef and Maynard's previous denials, Jef is claiming his family is both surprised and not surprised at his brother's behavior.

"My family all says they are shocked, and obviously I'm shocked," Jef explained. "But if everybody knew the history he had with our family, no one would be surprised."

While Mike reportedly vacationed with his family this past weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, when Maynard and her seven-year-old daughter Ricki came along with Jef, his relationship with the Holm clan has apparently been tense for awhile.

"I like to give Mike the benefit of the doubt and think he's changed, but obviously he hasn't. He has a history of doing hurtful things to the family," Jef told People. "He's been cut off from a lot of family things because he's so dishonest."

After Us' report of the alleged cheating scandal and argument began circulating Wednesday, Jef said, "I called every single member of my family and asked them if they'd done anything, and he promised me he hadn't."

Although Jef is saddened by his brother's alleged phony accusations, he told People his family ties are too strong to cut loose.

"It's so disturbing to think that a family member would do this. [But] as hurt as I am, I love him and I love my family," added Jef.

Mike reportedly declined comment on Jef's statements.
