Reality TV star and mafia don daughter Victoria Gotti is backing off her claim that she secretly underwent treatment for breast cancer.

The daughter of New York's late crime boss John Gotti told the New York Daily News last weekend she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and kept it secret from her family as well as anyone involved with her A&E show, "Growing Up Gotti."

"I lost 25 pounds," she told the newspaper. "I was so exhausted, I could barely lift my arms."

The New York Post reported Gotti's publicist, whose best friend's mom died of breast cancer, quit Monday and refused to comment on the Daily News story.

Then on CNBC's "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch" Monday night, Gotti admitted she did not actually have cancer, but had "a scare" with pre-cancerous cells, People magazine reported.

"Growing Up Gotti" began its third season this week.
