'Gone Country' star Maureen McCormick lands 'Access Hollywood' gig

UPI News Service, 03/07/2008

Former U.S. child star Maureen McCormick made her debut as an "Access Hollywood" guest correspondent Thursday interviewing Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus.

The father-and-daughter team star on the TV series "Hannah Montana" and are scheduled to preside over the upcoming "2008 CMT Music Awards" at Nashville's Curb Event Center at Belmont University April 14.

McCormick is best known for playing good girl Marcia on the classic TV sit-com "The Brady Bunch." She is now one of the stars of CMT's hit reality show, "Gone Country."

In addition to having interviewed the Cyruses, McCormick will also cover arrivals on the red carpet and conduct backstage interviews at the upcoming CMT Awards for "Access Hollywood."

"I love 'Access Hollywood' and to be their correspondent in Nashville with all the artists I adore and listen to is a dream," McCormick said in a statement.

"Watching Maureen evolve even further beyond her Marcia Brady image and seeing her love for country music in 'Gone Country' has been exciting," added "Access Hollywood" executive producer Rob Silverstein. "We are happy to have her join the 'Access' team in covering these artists that have inspired her in her own career."
