Fox has announced a new premiere date and regular time period for Kitchen Nightmares, a new reality series that will follow sharp-tongued British Hell's Kitchen chef Gordon Ramsay as he travels across America and helps restaurants in crisis.

Kitchen Nightmares was originally scheduled to air Thursdays at 9PM ET/PT and premiere September 13, however the show -- an American adaptation of the U.K.'s Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares reality series -- will now air Wednesdays at 9PM ET/PT and premiere September 19.

Although he always seems agitated when he's in front of Hell's Kitchen's cameras, Ramsay is presumably pleased about Kitchen Nightmares' new time period.  The new time period will put Kitchen Nightmares up against Private Practice and Bionic Woman, two new buzz-generating ABC and NBC shows, however the move does take Ramsey's new show out of the already uber-competitive Thursday night time period that is home to CBS and ABC's top-rated CSI and Grey's Anatomy dramas.

Back to You and Til Death, a pair of half-hour comedies, will serve as Kitchen Nightmares' Wednesday lead-in.  Back to You, a new comedy co-starring former Frasier actor Kelsey Grammer and former Everybody Loves Raymond actress Patricia Heaton, will air Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT.  Til Death, a second-year comedy that stars fellow former Everybody Loves Raymond actor Brad Garrett, will air Wednesdays at 8:30PM ET/PT.  Both sitcoms will premiere September 19.

Don't Forget the Lyrics, Fox's karaoke-style game show, will now air in Fox's Thursdays at 9PM ET/PT time period beginning September 6.
