NBC has announced it has tapped The Next Food Network Star second-season winner Guy Fieri to host its new Perfect 10 game show.
"Guy's enthusiasm is infectious, said NBC programming executive Paul Telegdy. "He's a true gamer at heart and his excitement for this show will inspire both the competitors and viewers at home to join in on the fun."
Each Perfect 10 episode will follow different contestants as they face 10 challenges that are simply designed but escalate in difficulty as the participant progresses through them. Each challenge has a 60-second time limit and failure to finish each task in the allotted time will eliminate the contestant.
While the contestant can walk away and keep the money they earned at certain points in the competition, they will need to complete all 10 tasks to win the $1 million rand prize.
"This show is out of bounds," said Fieri. "It truly is America's game show, anyone can compete. Contestants who complete 10 games in 10 minutes will win a $1 million prize, it's the win-it-in-a-minute attitude."
NBC is also currently casting for Perfect 10, and additional information is available via NBC's website.
After winning The Next Food Network Star's Spring 2006 second season, Fieri went on to helm several Food Network series -- including Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Guy Off the Hook, Guy's Big Bite and Ultimate Recipe Showdown.
NBC ordered eight one-hour Perfect 10 episodes in September, and it is currently slated to premiere next year.
