Ex-'Idol' judge Paula Abdul to host 'VH1 Divas' live concert special

Paula Abdul has landed her first post-American Idol gig.

VH1 announced it has tapped the former Idol judge to host its VH1 Divas concert event, which will air live on Thursday, September 17 at 9PM ET/PT.

The concert -- which VH1 is billing as being hosted by "the legendary Paula Abdul" -- will feature performances by original Idol champ Kelly Clarkson and sixth-season winner Jordin Sparks, as well as Adele, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus.

"Hi guys! im really excited 2 announce ill b hosting this year's "Vh1 Divas"!" wrote Abdul in a Monday Twitter post. 

"This year's VH1 Divas show will honor Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus- I am so excited!!"

Earlier this month Abdul used her Twitter page to announce that she will not be returning as a judge for Idol's ninth season.

Abdul's manager David Sonenberg recently stated there have been "no discussions whatsoever" about a possible Idol return for Abdul.
