Ex-'Idol 2' runner-up Clay Aiken to appear on 'Days of Our Lives'

UPI News Service, 10/27/2006

Former "American Idol" competitor Clay Aiken has signed on to perform one of the songs from his new album on the NBC soap opera, "Days of Our Lives."

The 27-year-old singer, who finished second in "Idol's" sophomore season, will play himself on the popular soap opera Dec. 22 and will perform a song from his album "A Thousand Different Ways," said People magazine.

While Aiken will perform his song "Everything I Have" on the episode, which films Nov. 14, his 2004 Christmas track "O, Holy Night" is also featured during the special holiday episode of "Days," the report said.

People magazine said on the series Aiken will perform "Everything" as part of a private concert put on for "Days" characters Steve and Kayla, who are played by Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans respectively.
