Misty May-Treanor apparently wasn't the only Dancing with the Stars participant that got hurt this weekend.

Dancing with the Stars professional Derek Hough had to be taken to the hospital on Saturday after hitting his head on the floor and temporarily blacking out during a practice with his dance partner Brooke Burke.

"At Saturday’s rehearsal, Derek was walking backwards and tripped over something on the floor. He was knocked out for a brief moment and was taken to the hospital as a precaution to make sure he was OK," a representative for Hough confirmed in a statement released to Access Hollywood.

Burke also offered her own recollection of the incident in a Sunday evening blog posting.

"We were practicing as usual when Derek accidentally tripped over a box, while walking backwards," Burke wrote.  "As he tried to break his fall, by jumping up, his foot caught a stage light which sent him further into the air.  He landed on his back on the wooden dance floor and smashed the back of his head."

Hough blacked out and remained disoriented and "flattened out in pain" after he regained consciousness, according to Burke.

"He couldn’t move," Burke wrote.  "I sat beside him as he layed there and we waited for help to arrive.  Our producers called 911 and the paramedics arrived to carefully examine him."

After being transported to the hospital and receiving a CAT Scan and several other tests, Hough was given a clean bill of a health, according to Burke.

The couple resumed practicing on Sunday.

"We were back at it today as scheduled," Burke wrote.  "With a huge headache, and a little dizziness, the show goes on."

This isn't the first time Hough has been injured while practicing for Dancing with the Stars.  Last season, he sustained a neck injury while rehearsing a group number for a Kyle Minogue performance.

The injury was initially believed to threaten his continued participation with Shannon Elizabeth, his sixth-season partner-turned-girlfriend, however it was later diagnosed as a sprain that he was able to perform through.
