Denise Richards is reportedly attempting to complicate Charlie Sheen's custodial privileges with their two daughters.

The Denise Richards: It's Complicated star was in court Thursday morning requesting a custody judge grant an emergency order restricting her ex-husband's access to 3-year-old Sam and 2-year-old Lola, TMZ.com reported.

While the emergency hearing was closed to the public, TMZ.com reported there are serious psychological issues at Sheen's home that could have an adverse impact on the two kids, and Richards would like a professional to evaluate the situation.

However sit-in Judge Marjorie Steinberg -- who is filling in for regular Judge Harvey Silberman, who is currently on vacation -- declined to grant Richards the emergency order.  Richards plans to re-file when Silberman returns Monday.

"These are serious issues regarding the children," Richards' lawyer Neal Hersh told TMZ.com.  "I would hope we will be graced by Charlie Sheen's presence in court on Monday -- if he takes these matters seriously regarding his children, like Denise does."

Sheen's lawyer Marty Singer accused Hersh of "forum shopping" since Hersh withdrew his legal papers in order to re-file with Silberman on Monday only after Steinberg made it clear she would deny his motion.

"He knew this judge was going to deny his relief," Singer told TMZ.com  "It is most unfortunate that Denise Richards and her attorney are desperately trying to deprive Charlie Sheen of visitation with his children, and at the same time obviously trying to create a media circus designed to help publicize her reality show."

Hersh countered that Steinberg "realized" Silberman "has more knowledge regarding the issues present in this case and therefore decided to defer a decision on the issues presented by Ms. Richards ex parte application to Judge Silberman."

"Mr. Singer knows better. This was not a matter of forum shopping," Hersh told TMZ.com.  "If Judge Steinberg wanted to deny Ms. Richards' requests out of hand she would have done so. She deferred a decision to Judge Silberman who is the Judge assigned to this case. In any event, on Monday, there will be an emergency hearing on the issues raised by Ms. Richards today."

While Denise Richards: It's Complicated was being developed, Sheen refused to allow Sam and Lola to appear onscreen due to what he felt was "exploitative of the children for the mother's own vanity and greed."  However Richards subsequently got the okay in Los Angeles Superior Court to allow the two children to appear in the show.

Richards wed Sheen in June 2002 before filing for divorce from the actor in March 2005.  While the couple briefly reconciled, they moved forward with their divorce in January 2007 and it was finalized in November.
