Dancing with the Stars professional dancer and country singer Julianne Hough underwent successful ovarian cyst and appendix removal surgery on Tuesday.

"Julianne has successfully completed her surgery in Los Angeles and is at home resting comfortably," her record label announced in a statement released on her website last night.  "Her family is with her.  We wish her a speedy recovery."

Hannah Montana star Cody Linley -- Hough's celebrity partner -- confirmed the news during Dancing with the Stars' Tuesday night results show.

"Yes, [Julianne's] operation went as planned," Linley told Dancing with the Stars co-host Samantha Harris after he had learned that he and Hough -- who didn't attend the results show -- had advanced to the competition's next round.  "She's at home and resting, so that is very, very good news."

Linley will dance with Edyta Sliwinska -- who had previously been paired with Jeffrey Ross, the first celebrity eliminated from the show's seventh season -- until Hough is healthy enough to return to Dancing with the Stars.

Although she had originally said that she was hoping to be back in time for next week's competition round, Hough now thinks she won't be dancing for two weeks.

"They say it's three or four days of recovery. I'm thinking more like a week. Then I'll be able to work with Cody. But I won't be dancing for two weeks," Hough wrote in a pre-surgery blog posting on Tuesday.
