A boardwalk brawl involving Jersey Shore cast member Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has spawned a lawsuit against the reality star and MTV.

Joshua Thomas and Kristin Perrenod filed a lawsuit Friday in New Jersey Superior Court claiming that Jersey Shore producers and MTV edited the boardwalk fight between Ortiz-Magro and Thomas and aired it "in a manner that was completely inconsistent with what really took place" as part of a "cover up," TMZ reported.

Thomas and Perrenod claim they have raw DVD footage from the night the altercation took place that proves Ortiz-Magro and fellow Jersey Shore cast member "Sweetheart" Sammi Giancola were the fight's antagonists and spit homophobic slurs and other insults at the couple, according to TMZ.

In addition, the couple alleges they were "clearly intoxicated" when they signed a release form that allowed the footage to air -- which means the waivers should not be valid.

Ortiz-Magro, MTV, MTV's Viacom parent company, Jersey Shore's 495 Productions production company are all among those that the couple is suing for an unspecific amount, TMZ reported.
