Each one-hour installment of the eight-episode series, which is scheduled to premiere in June, will highlight "the best and bizarre" in country culture -- from karaoke queens to over-the-top country weddings and die-hard Dukes of Hazzard fans.

Born Country is being executive produced by Lauren Lazin, who also produces MTV's True Life.

In addition to Born Country, CMT announced the development of several new series and specials: CMT Diary, Opening Act, America's Top Cowboy, Prankville, Bandits vs. Smokies, and Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge; as well as the return of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team for a second season, Trick My Truck for a third season and Country Fried Home Videos for a third season.
