"Chasing Maria Menounos is an emotional, comedic journey that will introduce Oxygen viewers to a modern young woman who is at a crossroad in her life and trying to decide what's next," Oxygen executive Rod Aissa said in a statement.

"Maria is ambitious, unconventional and incredibly funny, you just can't help but fall in love with her."

Oxygen had originally announced the series in July 2012. However, the show's production appears to have been delayed, as the premiere of Chasing Maria Menounos will feature the TV personality celebrating her 35th birthday, an event which took place in June 2013.

The luau-themed party will have guests such as Menounos' former Dancing with the Stars pro partner Derek Hough and friends Perez Hilton and Khloe Kardashian.

Menounos currently lives with Keven Undergaro, her boyfriend of 15 years, and her traditional Greek immigrant parents Costas and Litsa, who are pushing her to wed and have kids.

"Though she respects her devoted family and boyfriend's opinions, she tends to make decisions with or without their approval," according to the network. "As Maria turns 35, she contemplates whether she can support her parents and the friends who depend on her, while building a family with Keven and having some fun along the way."

Menounos is an entertainment reporter best known for her role as a host on Extra. She also appeared on Dancing with the Stars' fourteenth season with Hough in Spring 2012 and the couple finished in fourth place.

Chasing Maria Menounos is being produced by Left/Right with Menounos, Undergaro, Ken Druckerman, Banks Tarver, and Angie Day serving as executive producers.
