Carrie Underwood has revealed the sex of her baby, but it apparently wasn't her choice to make the announcement.

During the 2014 Country Music Awards on Wednesday night, co-hosts Underwood and Brad Paisley exchanged a few jokes which resulted in Paisley spilling the beans about whether Underwood's baby is a boy or a girl, People reported.

"We're pregnant," Paisley reportedly said onstage, begging, "Can you please just tell me what we're having?"

The fourth-season American Idol winner -- who is expecting her first child with husband Mike Fisher -- then whispered the answer in her fellow country star's ear.

According to People, Paisley yelped in response, "I'm so happy! I know something y'all don't know."

Following some playful banter in which the pair got a little off-track, Paisley seemed to accidentally let the cat out of the bag.

"We could name him Garth," Paisley suggested of presenter Garth Brooks.

"What are you doing?!" Underwood reportedly exclaimed. "What's wrong with you? You gotta be kidding me. You kept that secret for a whole two minutes."

Underwood announced her pregnancy in early September by posting a photo on Instagram of Ace and Penny, her two dogs with Fisher, sporting "big brother" and "big sister" shirts.

Fisher, a 34-year-old professional hockey player for the Nashville Predators, hinted at what the baby's name could be on Twitter at the time.

"We haven't picked names yet but it's looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher," he tweeted.

Underwood and Fisher got married in Georgia in July 2010 following their December 2009 engagement. The couple had dated for about a year before Fisher proposed.
