Inaba and Sloan, an accountant, got engaged on live television when Sloan surprised theDancing with the Stars judge with a marriage proposal when she was guest co-hosting Live! with Regis & Kelly in March 2011.
"I didn't put up a picture, I didn't put anything about who I was," Inaba told Access Hollywood Live in 2011. "I was like, 'You need to be sexy. I need to be attracted to you.' I really put exactly what I wanted. 'I love cats!'"
According to Inaba her attraction to Sloan was immediate.
"He was the one they sent me. It just felt familiar... in his picture, I felt like I already knew him. He took a risk because he didn't know what I looked like or anything," she said. "A few months later, I finally sent a picture."
