Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.  Days after American Idol judge Paula Abdul said that she thought fellow judge Simon Cowell might be spreading himself to thin, Bravo announced today that it will air Hey Paula!, a new docu-reality series that will give viewers a look at the former pop star's professional and personal life.

"Bravo has been successful with profiling dynamic, creative personalities that quicken the pulse of pop culture," said Lauren Zalaznick, the cable network's president. "Paula's career epitomizes the frenzy of Hollywood as it relates to television, music, dance and style. Viewers will get an intimate glimpse at the real woman behind the headlines."

In addition to following the former Los Angeles Laker Girl and Grammy Award winner as she films the sixth installment of Idol, the series will also show Adbul working on her new Bratz: The Movie project, developing her own line of perfumes and cosmetics, expanding her originally-designed jewelry line (the Paula Abdul Jewelry Collection), marketing her clothing line, and fitting personal appearances into what is becoming a more and more into a demanding schedule.

"It's a hectic time in my life right now with several projects in television, film and fashion," said the 44-year-old Idol judge/recording artist/choreographer/business women/producer. "I'm excited to open the doors to Bravo and have all my fans see the other sides to me, beyond what they see on American Idol."

Hey Paula! is being produced by Scott Sternberg Productions and is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year.
