The CW has announced that Beauty and the Geek's fourth season will premiere with a special two-hour episode on Tuesday, September 18 at 8PM ET/PT.

While Beauty and the Geek's fourth season will center around the same "gorgeous but academically impaired" women and "brilliant but socially challenged" men format as the show's first three seasons, the fourth edition will also feature a new twist -- the inclusion of one hunky guy and one nerdy girl.

Beauty and the Geek's fourth edition -- which was first announced as part of The CW's May announcement of the network's Fall 2007 primetime programming schedule -- will mark the first time that the reality series will air during the fall television season.

Beauty and the Geek's first season aired on The WB in Summer 2005, and its second edition served as a midseason replacement for the now defunct network in Winter 2006.  When The WB and UPN both ceased independent operations in September 2006, Beauty and the Geek found a home at The CW along with additional programming from both networks, including America's Next Top Model.

Beauty and the Geek's third season was broadcast in Top Model's Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT time period during the hiatus between Top Model's Fall 2006 seventh edition and its Spring 2007 eighth edition -- so when the Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg-produced reality competition series was announced as Fall 2007 programming for The CW, it meant the show would have to move to a new time period.

Instead of airing in the same Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT time period as Beauty and the Geek 3, the show's fourth edition moved to Tuesdays at 8PM ET/PT.

Beginning with its second episode on Tuesday, September 25, Beauty and the Geek 4 will serve as a lead-in to Reaper -- a new scripted drama that will tell the story of a slacker who learns his parents accidentally sold his soul to the devil before he was born -- that is scheduled to air Tuesdays at 9PM ET/PT.

In addition to Beauty and the Geek 4, The CW announced Top Model's ninth edition will premiere Wednesday, September 19 at 8PM ET/PT with a special two-hour episode.
