Bachelor in Paradise star Jeremy Simon has explained why he didn't tell Bailey Taylor Brown about his phone call with Susie Evans and if he had any plans to come clean.

"Watching it back, that is definitely one thing I wish I did differently, especially because I am a fan of communication. I could've just told her then," Jeremy explained to the podcast's co-hosts Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile.
"I think my reasoning at the time was like, 'She just went on this date [with Andrew Spencer] and she's having conversations with this guy and kissing this guy. I'm not hearing about any of this. I'm having a conversation with [Susie], and I don't need to tell her about it.'"
Jeremy, however, recalled saying in multiple confessionals, "If things progress or whatever with Bailey, I will obviously tell her."
Jeremy went on to insist, "I'm not just going to, like, wait until maybe we get engaged and tell her or wait until the show is airing to tell her."
"[I thought], 'I will tell her,'" he added. "I just feel like because it was still early stages, it wasn't necessary at the time."
Joe pointed out how Jeremy had eight days to tell Bailey about the phone call and it did, in fact, seem like their relationship progressed into something serious.
"Yeah it did," Jeremy confirmed.
"But you still didn't tell her," Joe noted.
"Listen, I'm in a position where if I become even a little bit defensive, people are like, 'Oh, he's a liar and he's just blaming it on stuff.' It's a tough line to walk on," Jeremy shared.
"But the truth is, I was having thoughts of telling Bailey. The whole thing we saw on Episode 7, the only reason I actually didn't tell her that night was because I went to sleep. That was my one night to catch up on sleep."

Jeremy acknowledged how Bachelor in Paradise cast members survive on very little sleep.
"I wish I could've told her the day before, but the day before was our one-on-one date and the competition," Jeremy said.
"If people don't want to believe me, they don't have to. But I genuinely was going to tell her."
Jeremy also clarified that the timeline from when he had called Susie and when he made the shocking comments to Brian Autz in a hotel room -- including that he'd propose to Susie on the spot -- "took place over three days" when they filmed "for over three-and-a-half weeks."
Jeremy said the situation is unfortunate because he and Bailey "had so many good moments" and their relationship grew a lot from that Susie drama on.
"But there was so much focus on three days, which were stretched across three episodes," Jeremy explained.
"Of course people are going to focus on that, but if you ask me -- and if you honestly ask a lot of the cast members -- it wasn't a big part of Paradise."

Jeremy recalled deciding that if his romance with Bailey turned into something real, they'd talk about Susie.
Joe therefore asked when exactly it "turned into something real" with Bailey.
"The switch for me happened when it became the competition aspect. We obviously we learning a lot about each other anyways, but we were so locked in on each other, and it really felt like, from my part, feelings were starting to develop," Jeremy shared.
"And even though the competition takes place over four episodes or so, that was really a main part of the whole experience... It was from the competition, us winning that amazing date, and then having the weeks together after that."

Jeremy said, in the back of his mind, he was "100 percent" thinking about how he'd eventually have to tell Bailey something that was going to hurt her.
"There was even a point during our date where you can see on TV that I was telling her, 'You kind of caught me off-guard with the [Andrew] date.' Obviously I'm thinking about that, but who wants to ruin this amazing date with that?" Jeremy recalled.
"And then literally the next day is when she found out."
When asked what would've been the perfect time to tell Bailey in hindsight, Jeremy revealed, "I was thinking about doing it that night, but I chose to get sleep. It happens. She found out in a different way and we just needed to move on from that."
Brian, however, insisted during a recent appearance on "The Viall Files" podcast that there's "no chance" Jeremy ever would've told Bailey about his lingering feelings for Susie.
Brian therefore ended up telling Bailey everything Jeremy had said about Susie, and most of the guys viewed it as a betrayal and a breach in "bro code" on Brian's part.
Brian warned Bailey that Jeremy had said he regretted not giving Susie his rose when she was still around.

Given Bailey and Jeremy were a strong couple in Paradise at this point, Brian's revelation brought Bailey to tears, and she threatened to quit the show when $500,000 was still on the line.
When Bailey confronted Jeremy about Brian's claims on the show, Jeremy promised Bailey that he really cared for her and only had eyes for her. Jeremy also denied ever saying that he'd propose marriage to Susie if she came back to the show.
Bailey ended up forgiving Jeremy and the pair decided to move forward in Paradise together.
