'Bachelor's Andrew Firestone and Jen Schefft getting back together?

By Steve Rogers, 02/12/2004

Are Andrew Firestone, the millionaire at the center of ABC's third edition of The Bachelor, and Jen Schefft, the woman to which he proposed during the program's finale, getting back to together only two months after their extremely public breakup announcement?

In a cover story in this week's magazine, US Weekly is reporting that the couple recently reunited when Firestone visited Chicago to appear at the city's Auto Show event. While in the Windy City, Firestone looked up Schefft (who moved back to Chicago from San Francisco after their relationship ended in December) and the couple appeared "affectionate" during their time together -- including Firestone "gently kissing" Schefft's hand during dinner at a local restaurant.

Despite the public displays of affection -- which reportedly also included walks in the neighborhood around Schefft's new apartment, friends of both parties refused to confirm that the couple was indeed back together.

"They had dinner to catch up and there was nothing romantic involved," Schefft's friend Taryn Weaver told US Weekly. However, Kevin Krystofiak, Firestone's roommate, was less adamant in his comments to the magazine. "From what [Firestone] said, they had a great time. ... What that leads to in the future, I don't know."

In their December breakup announcement which was released exclusively to the syndicated Extra entertainment news program, Firestone had stated, "This is a decision we made together through long and thoughtful discussion. It is totally amicable and, though we care for each other deeply, we have come to realize that our future goals are different." Schefft added, "Our love for each other was genuine, but we confronted the same challenges as any other couple trying to make a relationship work day-to-day."

Who know's -- perhaps America might yet see one of The Bachelor's stars finally make it to the altar!
