American Idol's sixth-season Top 3 finalists -- third-place finisher Melinda Doolittle, runner-up Blake Lewis and winner Jordin Sparks -- are all scheduled to help celebrate the country's 231st birthday and perform during NBC's live one-hour broadcast of Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, which will air Wednesday, July 4 at 9PM ET.

With American Idol's 2007 summer tour scheduled to kick-off on Friday, July 6 in Sunrise, FL, Doolittle, Lewis and Sparks will have the opportunity to first perform together during the NBC Fourth of July event, as they'll pay tribute to America through song.  Joining the Idol 6 Top 3 to help celebrate will be country artist Martina McBride and The New York Pops, with the event being hosted by Today correspondent Natalie Morales and Football Night in America studio analyst and fellow Today correspondent Tiki Barber.

And of course, there will be fireworks.

"Macy's Fireworks is always rated the #1 show in America by the American Pyrotechnic Association, and with the show we've got planned, 2007 will be no exception," said Robin Hall, executive producer of Macy's Fireworks show. "We'll be launching a show filled with eye-popping color, intense sound and breathtaking new effects.  Macy's Fireworks will again be the biggest fireworks show in the nation, a pyrotechnic marvel choreographed to a sweeping, heroic score brilliantly played by the New York Pops."

Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular is a production of NBC Universal Television Studio in association with Macy's. Bob Holmes is the executive producer.
