'American Idol 3' reject William Hung crowned Artichoke King

"American Idol" reject William Hung has been named the first "Artichoke King" of Castroville, Calif.

The Hong Kong native who leaped to fame with his horrendous audition for the Fox TV talent competition will become the first to wear the Artichoke King crown during the Castroville Artichoke Festival Saturday, the Santa Cruz (Calif.) Sentinel reported.
Hung will ride in the Sunday parade and perform "Surfin' USA" and "Achy Breaky Heart."
The 24-year-old engineering student secured his place in pop culture when he sang Ricky Martin's "She Bangs" in an audition for the third season of "American Idol."
