HOME > Trista & Ryan's WeddingABC paying Trista Rehn & Ryan Sutter $1,000,000 for the TV rights to their weddingAs we reported previously, ABC announced in May that it will broadcast the two-hour wedding of "The Bachelorette's" Trista Rehn and fiance Ryan Sutter as a two-hour special in the fall, with a additional two-hour preamble. Now The Smoking Gun is reporting that the couple will be paid a cool $1,000,000 for granting ABC the TV rights to their wedding.
Per the terms of the contract, Rehn and Sutter received $100,000 upon signing the contract in May. They'll receive another $500,000 after exchanging vows, with the balance of the $1,000,000 paid out in equal installments during the show's production. However, if Rehn and Sutter don't get married, they'll have to return the $100,000 down payment. The producers also could hold the couple legally liable for breaching the contract. According to a copy Rehn's original contract for the series also obtained by The Smoking Gun, Rehn's original payment for "The Bachelorette" series was a paltry $15,000 for living expenses and personal trainer fees. |
