Variety reports that ABC has ordered another seven episode edition of "Celebrity Mole," with casting set to begin immediately and the series targeted for either a summer or fall premiere. Ahmad Rashad is expected to return as host. ABC reality guru Andrea Wong said she's "thrilled the show's coming back." "It was a huge success for us in its last run and performed fantastically well in the time period."

Apparently, the network is extremely disappointed in the low Wednesday ratings by its more recent reality show attempts, "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" and "All American Girl" (what "Girl" isn't a smash hit -- what a shocker!) "Celebrity Mole" brought the network some of its highest ratings in its timeslot among the coveted 18-49 demographic. Season-to-date, the first "Celebrity Mole" ranks as ABC's fourth highest-rated show among adults 18-49 and 18-34, trailing only "The Bachelor," "The Bachelorette" and "Monday Night Football."

Exec producer David Stanley said the timing of the pickup should help in casting for "Celebrity Mole 2." "The fact that we can begin casting during scripted series hiatus should prove helpful, but we are even more confident this time around because the celebrities that were on the show last time have all been very vocal that they had an awesome time," he said.
