'A Double Shot at Love' contestant killed after appearance on the show

By Christopher Rocchio, 12/07/2008

Kandice Hutchison, a contestant on MTV's upcoming A Double Shot at Love reality dating series, was killed in a car accident that occurred after she finished her involvement in the show's production.

A vehicle allegedly rear-ended Hutchinson's car around 2:50AM on October 21 in Euless, TX -- causing the 22-year-old makeup artist to be ejected and her car to burst into flames, Dallas' KDFW-TV Fox affiliate reported at the time.

Hutchinson was thrown over the center wall and into the eastbound lanes of traffic, and officers told KDFW she died on scene.

Despite Hutchinson's death, A Double Shot at Love producers still plan to include footage of her as one of 24 contestants vying for the affection of bisexual twin sisters Rikki and Vikki on the reality dating series, TMZ.com reported Friday.

In addition, producers told TMZ.com that some of Hutchinson's "more outrageous behavior" has been edited out of the show "out of respect for the family."  The family reportedly supports the decision to keep her in the show.

"We were deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Kandice," an MTV spokesperson told Us Weekly in a Friday statement. "We plan to air a tribute during the season."

A Double Shot at Love will premiere on Tuesday, December 9 at 10PM ET/PT.
