Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, reportedly avoided picking a "K" name on purpose.

Caitlyn decided not to spell her name with a "K" because she does not want to be clumped in with the Kardashian brand, TMZ reported.

According to sources close to Caitlyn, she wants to separate herself from the Kardashian world only for the sake of self-identity and individuality. The sources say Caitlyn wants to be her own person and it was a very meaningful, symbolic choice for her to make.

Another reason for not following suit with a "K" name -- as in Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian -- was because Caitlyn has never been her own person before, so becoming a part of the Kardashian clan would undermine her overall goal in this gender transition.

However, there is absolutely no tension between Caitlyn and the Kardashians, TMZ reported.

Vanity Fair just revealed Caitlyn on the cover of its July issue dressed and made up completely as a woman. Caitlyn pointed out that she now feels "free." The magazine issue will hit newsstands June 9.

Caitlyn's new life as a woman will be chronicled in an upcoming docu-reality series on E! this summer.
