VH1 has announced Fantasia For Real, a new reality series that will document American Idol third-season winner Fantasia Barrino, will premiere Monday, January 11 at 10PM ET/PT.

Each half-hour episode of the series will follow Barrino as she struggles to balance life as a single mother to her 8-year-old daughter Zion while also writing and recording her third studio album, which is expected to be released early next year.

"Fantasia has engaged millions of fans not only through her music and her amazing talent but also by her incredible fairytale life story," said  VH1 programming executive Jeff Olde.

"Our audience helped Fantasia become an American Idol and now, with this series, they get a backstage pass into her real life as she confronts obstacles to realize her true potential as an artist, a mother, a daughter and a sister."

VH1 ordered Fantasia For Real in April.

The eight-episode series is produced by World of Wonder.
