The Voice eliminated DeAndre Nico and Dave Fenley in what turned out to be a very unusual and surprising live results show during Tuesday night's Season 15 broadcast on NBC.

DeAndre and Dave landed in the bottom three along with Reagan Strange, a 13-year-old from Memphis, TN, based on America's votes cast following Monday night's Top 10 performance show.

Dave was a member of Blake Shelton's team, while both DeAndre and Reagan represented Adam Levine's team.

The three artists were required to sing a survival song last night so that America could tweet via the show's "Instant Save" format to keep one of them in the competition.

However, The Voice host Carson Daly made an announcement at the beginning of the show.

"Reagan Strange is here in the building but she's not feeling well at the moment. She isn't joining us but is still here in spirit and a part of the show, as for now. We are thinking of her and she is offstage," Carson said.

When Reagan landed in the bottom three artists, Carson revealed she was still "feeling under the weather" and "unable to perform" for the "Instant Save." However, home viewers were still able to vote for her when the time came.

Dave then kicked off the elimination format by singing "Amazed" by Lonestar.

Kelly said Dave's tone is soft, round and full "like a blanket," and Blake said the artist's voice "floors" him.

Blake didn't understand why Dave landed in the bottom and told people watching at home, "This guy deserves to move to the semifinals."

DeAndre then took the stage with "All Of Me" by John Legend. DeAndre fell into the bottom two last week as well, so this didn't mark the first time he had to fight for his position to stay on the show.

Jennifer noted DeAndre meant every single word of the song he sang and he did the best he could.

Adam then said, "DeAndre, you're an exquisite singer. I'm a little confused as to why you're in the bottom. That perplexes me, I guess now constantly because it's happened more than once," Adam told his team member.

But then Adam's speech took a turn, and he decided to fight for Reagan instead -- which left DeAndre standing awkwardly on the stage in disappointment.

"But I want to say this. There is an unbelievably talented little girl right now, who is not able to fight for her position on this show, and you [DeAndre] were fortunate tonight to be able to sing. And man, like a champ. This guy sang like a champ," Adam explained.

"I cannot sing for Reagan... As much as I want to urge you all to vote for this man -- because he never should have been in the bottom -- I have a very special relationship with Reagan, and I have two little girls at home and the thought of breaking her heart by not urging everyone to give this girl a shot, to go and redeem herself next week, would be too far beneath me."

Adam went on to say that although he loves DeAndre and appreciated what he did on the stage Tuesday night, the coach wanted to see Reagan advance.

After all, Reagan had been the most-streamed artist on Apple Music two weeks in a row. Chris Kroeze, however, snagged that spot among The Voice contestants this week.

"I honestly think you should both be here tonight, but I need to fight for my girl, and I've got to make sure that I represent her properly in this moment because she didn't have a chance to use her voice tonight," Adam continued.

"So I'm going to use it for her as best as I possibly can to make sure she can make it next week."

Throughout the night, Reagan was sitting in the audience while wearing a white robe. She had tears in her eyes as her mother held her tight.

Home viewers then had a short five-minute window to vote for DeAndre, Dave or Reagan to stay on The Voice via Twitter.

Reagan Strange Edges Out DeAndre Nico In "Instant Save" Vote

At the end of the final commercial break, the vote was extremely close, as Reagan had received 38 percent of the vote, DeAndre had earned 37 percent of the vote, and Dave had received 24 percent.

Coach Kelly Clarkson then got a final word in saying that DeAndre sang "the hell" out of his song and Adam was clearly in a tough predicament.

Carson then revealed the final set of results at the end of the night, and Reagan was instantly saved.

The semifinalists will perform next Monday night at 8PM ET/PT. The Top 8 will then be narrowed down to four finalists on Tuesday, December 11.
