Artists who received the most votes in each Cross Battle pairing automatically advanced, but each coach was allowed one "Steal" and one "Save" to use during this round in the heat of the moment.

The winners of the second set of Cross Battles for Season 16 were Jej Vinson, Jimmy Mowery, Shawn Sounds, Carter Lloyd Horne, Kalvin Jarvis, Rebecca Howell, Gyth Rigdon, and Andrew Sevener.

Only three artists -- who lost their respective Cross Battles -- were saved or stolen by Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton. (Coach Adam Levine used his only "Save" and "Steal" last week).

Kendra Checketts was stolen, while Jacob Maxwell and Abby Kasch were saved.

Cross Battle results for Team Adam's LB Crew vs. Team Kelly's Jej Vinson were shown first.

Adam told LB that he really wanted him to stay but no longer had abilities to "Steal" or "Save." Adam thought LB was "triumphant" and did his "absolute best."

Kelly gushed about how both guys are "phenomenal" but completely different. She didn't want to see either guy go since they were both "brilliant."

America ultimately decided to save Jej.

The coaches with Steals or Saves left only had 10 seconds to decide whether they'd like to keep LB in the competition, but no one pressed his or her button for LB, eliminating him as a result.

Next up was Team Adam's Kendra Checketts vs. Team Legend's Jimmy Mowery.

Adam called Kendra incredible, gifted and talent in ways he wasn't even aware of earlier in the competition. Adam couldn't grasp the idea of losing her because she's "unbelievable."

John only worked with Jimmy for this one performance but he said it was so fun to work with him and he's grown a lot throughout his time on the show.

American saved Jimmy, but Blake decided to steal Kendra.

"It's time for Kendra to come home. It's been way too long," Blake said.

"I didn't want to let you go the first time and I've held onto my steal throughout this whole process, hoping for this opportunity with you."

Carson then brought Team Legend's Shawn Sounds and Team Blake's Karly Moreno to the stage.

John said Shawn came to the show with so much talent and energy and he knows exactly what he's doing. John added that Shawn taught him something every time they worked together.

Blake told Karly they didn't have much time together but he stole her for his team because of the obvious personality and talent she brings to the show. Blake also acknowledged fans probably love her smile.

America saved Shawn, which ultimately sent Karly packing.

Results were then delivered to Team Blake's Carter Lloyd Horne and Team Legend's Jacob Maxwell.

Blake expressed how Carter is on the right path and music is what he should be doing because he has an incredible voice.

John told Jacob that he wants to hear a record with Jacob's voice on it because his sound is so beautiful.

America saved Carter. But just as Jacob thought he was being ousted from the competition, John decided to his only "Save" on Jacob.

"I love working with you, and I think you have so much more in store.  America needs to hear your voice some more, so we're going to keep working!" John announced.

Next up was Team Legend's Julian King's Cross Battle results against Team Adam's Kalvin Jarvis.

Adam gushed about how Kalvin had an amazing moment for himself on Monday night and he did his best job at the most important time.

"I think you blew us all away. You really did," Adam noted.

John told Julian that he has the mind and the heart of an artist -- the spirit of creativity and musicianship and having a point of view as an artist. John predicted Julian would have a future in this industry no matter what.

America saved Kalvin, which sent Julian packing unfortunately.

Carson then delivered results to Team Legend's Beth Griffith-Manley and Team Kelly's Rebecca Howell.

Kelly expressed how the two ladies were apples against oranges and she had no idea what to expect. She didn't think it was fair to match up a country artist with a soulful artist. Kelly believed in them both "100 percent."

John told Beth that she is gifted and elegant. He noted how she had "dazzled the audience" with her passion on the stage Monday night.

America saved Rebecca, and then Beth was unfortunately eliminated.

Carson then brought Team Kelly's Abby Kasch and Team Blake's Gyth Rigdon on the stage.

Blake told Gyth he's a star and couldn't imagine his journey was going to end here. Blake was "very proud" of him.

Kelly was glad Abby could represent country on her team, and she said what Abby represents on this show is "so fresh" and she did an outstanding job.

America saved Gyth, but Kelly decided to save Abby.

"I didn't want to risk losing you and I think you're so talented. I love the song you're doing next week and I can't wait for America to see it," Kelly declared,

Results for the final Cross Battle pairing from Monday night were then revealed.

The pairing was Team Kelly's The Bundys and Team Blake's Andrew Sevener.

Kelly hoped America chose The Bundys and she said she felt so blessed to work with a trio on the show.

Blake told Andrew he wouldn't change one thing about how this worked out because he's "a monster of a vocalist" and deserves to stay in the competition.

Blake said if Andrew goes home, he has some gigs lined up for him in Nashville, TN, and Oklahoma.

America saved Andrew, so The Bundys were ousted from the competition as a result.

Next week, The Voice's Top 24 artists will begin performing in the live shows, with an uneven number of artists on the coaches' teams.
