The much-anticipated Battles kicked off last night, as two members from a coach's team duke it out for only one spot. Two contestants from the same team were required to sing a song simultaneously to prove which performer is better or has more potential in the competition.

During the "Battle Round," each coach is allowed two "Steals," which means a coach can steal any singer who loses his or her respective battle to a teammate.

Adam Levine first matched Jordan Smith with Regina Love and asked them to sing "Like I Can." In the end, Jordan won but Gwen Stefani opted to steal Regina.

Adam also paired Dustin Monk with James Dupre. The two guys sang "Fortunate Son" and James was declared the battle's winner.

Monday night's broadcast featured one battle for "Team Gwen." She had Ellie Lawrence face off against Tim Atlas with a performance of "Sweater Weather." Although Ellie was picked as the champion, Blake Shelton chose to steal Tim.

Coach Pharrell Williams asked Celeste Betton to sing "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" with Mark Wood, and in the end, Mark was victorious.

Blake's team had two battle rounds Monday night. Tyler Dickerson and Zach Seabaugh were matched up to perform "I'm Gonna Be Somebody," and Zach won.

There was also a showdown between Barrett Baber and Dustin Christensen for "Team Blake." They took the stage with a performance of "Walking In Memphis." Blake selected Barrett as the winner, but both Adam and Gwen tried to steal Dustin.

Both coaches made good arguments, but Dustin was ultimately sold by Adam's passion. Adam admitted his heart would be broken if Dustin didn't join his team because he's wanted him all along.

The Voice's next episode airs Tuesday night at 8PM ET/PT on NBC.
