Grimmie was shot and killed Friday night while signing autographs and posing with fans for photos following an Orlando concert in which she opened for the band Before You Exit at The Plaza Live venue.

According to Orlando police, the killer has been identified as Kevin James Loibl, a 27-year-old from St. Petersburg, FL, but his motive has not yet been determined, CNN reported.

Many members from The Voice family expressed their sadness over the loss of Grimmie on social media this past weekend.

"To an amazing soul and voice...may your legacy live on forever. Rest in peace beautiful," Usher tweeted June 11.

"So sad passing of @TheRealGrimmie. Beautiful member of #TheVoice family & true #Fighter. My heart goes out to her family, friends & fans. xo," Christina Aguilera wrote.

"This is a tragic loss. My heart goes out to @therealgrimmie's family, friends and all the people that she touched," Pharrell Williams tweeted.

"I am so shaken by what happened to @TheRealGrimmie sending prayers of Peace to her family ox," Gwen Stefani posted on her Twitter account.

"So sad about @TheRealGrimmie. I'm still in shock. She was special. Had IT. Talented. Kind. Funny. Loving. Courageous. We hurt w her family. Our artists & families is my territory on #theVoice. I take great pride. Knowing them. Hosting them. Supporting them. It's not TV. It's real," The Voice host Carson Daly tweeted.

Shortly after the news of Grimmie's death broke, Blake Shelton wrote on social media that he was "disgusted and heartbroken," while her former coach and mentor on the show, Adam Levine, admitted he was "shocked and confused" about the incident.

Levine later opened up even more in the following media statement obtained by Us Weekly: "[My wife Behati Prinsloo] and I are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie's tragic death. Our hearts go out to her family. Christina was a natural, a gifted talent that comes along so rarely."

"She was taken from us too soon," the Maroon 5 frontman continued. "This is yet another senseless act of extreme violence. I am left stunned and confused how these things can conceivably continue to happen in our world."

Grimmie placed third on The Voice's sixth season, during which Levine, Shelton, Usher and Shakira served as the four coaches.
