The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is going to film a brand new season.

Hulu has renewed The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives for a sixth season, People reported.

One of the show's stars, Layla Taylor, first teased a new season on Hulu's "Get Real" podcast.

The podcast's host, Amanda Hirsch, asked Layla if she could share any details about the filming experience given fans are already aware cast members have been taping confessionals for Season 5 following a brief hiatus.

Layla responded, "We're not done with Season 5, and we're filming for Season 6 right now."

Layla, 25, continued, "But honestly, it makes sense. It's so hard. We have this battle that we, all of us girls, talk about that when we're not filming, I miss it."

The mother of two admitted she gets "kind of bored" when cameras aren't rolling.

"And so much happens too conveniently when the cameras go down. So, it's like at this point, just let's just film the whole year," Layla said.

Hulu had paused production on Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in mid-March amid Taylor Frankie Paul's legal and custody dispute with her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, the father of her youngest child, Ever True, 2.

Around the time Mormon Wives took a break from filming, a 2023 video of Taylor assaulting Dakota leaked online and prompted ABC to cancel Taylor's The Bachelorette season.

Taylor and Dakota had accused each other of domestic violence in February, but Taylor learned in April that she won't face charges.

People reported the following month that The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives had resumed filming.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives executive producer Jeff Jenkins told Variety in late May that "everyone in the existing cast" had "strong opinions" about what unfolded between Taylor and Dakota.

A source told People in May that only new confessionals from the cast were being filmed for Season 5 and then they planned to move forward with Season 6 quickly.

SLOMW star Whitney Leavitt's husband Conner Leavitt confirmed shortly afterward that Hulu had, in fact, "cut the season short [to] five episodes only."

"They're having everyone go back to basically do interviews, wrap up a couple of things," he explained at the time.

"I think that'll be a very abbreviated season considering all the things that happened publicly."

Last month, TMZ reported that Taylor was going to have limited involvement in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' fifth season amid her legal troubles. (Taylor is also mom to Indy, 8, and Ocean, 6, with her ex-husband Tate Paul).

The website reported in early July that Taylor was only going to film the opening credits for the show while her co-stars were taping confessionals.

An insider even told the magazine that Taylor was going to film the intro separately from her fellow cast members.

The separation may have been because there was obvious tension between Taylor and the other Mormon Wives stars, which only escalated and intensified in subsequent weeks.

Taylor recently feuded with her Mormon Wives co-stars, and she's still embroiled in her custody disputes.

Utah's Division of Child and Family Services also filed a petition last month asking a juvenile court to determine that Taylor's three kids meet Utah's legal definition of "abused, neglected, or dependent" children, TMZ reported.
