The Golden Bachelor star Mel Owens has described his overnight Fantasy Suite dates in three words.

"Contemplative, conversation, information," Mel told Us Weekly in an interview.

"I went in there really wanting to know more, because the cameras are off, no mic, and now I can ask questions you might not want to say while you're miked and on camera."

Mel is nearing the end of his journey to find love on the ABC reality dating series, and multiple women have been shown expressing how they're falling in love with him.

After filming hometown dates with his Final 3 women -- Cindy Angelcyk Cullers, a 60-year-old retired biomedical engineer from Austin, TX; Debbie Siebers, a 65-year-old fitness professional from Denver, CO; and Peg Munson, a 62-year-old retired firefighter and bomb tech from Las Vegas, NV -- Mel was granted some special off-camera time with his The Golden Bachelor finalists.

Mel then had to make his final decision in Antigua, and viewers are hoping that he found lasting love.

Earlier in The Golden Bachelor season, Mel told the cameras, "Is my wife here? Yes, I feel it in my heart."

But based on a season preview that aired at the end of The Golden Bachelor's premiere night, there are going to be a lot of tears.

And it appears one of Mel's finalists may quit on him, just like Carol Freeman.

Mel laments to The Golden Bachelor host Jesse Palmer, "Jesse, it's tough. She left."

Jesse replies, "I know for a fact she's still here."

While Mel clearly experienced some ups and downs on The Golden Bachelor, he noted during a September appearance on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast that the show was "a really good experience" overall and he feels "very good" about his life now.

Mel boasted on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast in September how his winning bachelorette is going to "have a lot of fun" with him in the real world.

"I'm a nice guy!" insisted the 66-year-old attorney and former NFL player.

"I'm interested in them and what they do because it's got to be a two-way street. I'm choosing them, but they're also choosing me... So I want to learn from them as well, because that's why we're together."

Mel noted that the relationship "can't be one-sided" once they leave The Golden Bachelor bubble.

"So I think, for me, [the winner] is going to get someone who is excited to live life and to keep learning and have personal growth," Mel shared.

Mel also gushed about how his time on The Golden Bachelor was "unreal" and one of the "greatest experiences" of his life.
