The Golden Bachelor alum Theresa Nist has claimed Gerry Turner "never" initiated physical intimacy with her during their relationship.

"Physical intimacy wasn't going to bond Theresa and me... My first night at her house, she took out sheets and pillows before telling me, 'Tomorrow's a big workday. I need a good night's sleep. Do you mind sleeping on the sofa?'" Gerry wrote in an excerpt of his book, Golden Years: What I've Learned From Love, Loss, and Reality TV, obtained by Entertainment Weekly.
Gerry wrote how he felt "rejected" and "rattled," especially since he thought the couple was going to kiss, snuggle and act like they were on their honeymoon.
But Theresa claimed during the Tuesday, November 4 episode of the "Dear Shandy" podcast that the "intimacy thing" was Gerry's fault.
"It was quite the opposite -- quite the opposite, and I don't understand," Theresa alleged.
"Yes, I rebuffed him in that moment because so many times before that, I had tried."
Theresa recalled talking to Gerry about their intimacy issues one night before they got married.
The conversation apparently followed a fight in which Gerry allegedly called Theresa "a liar" -- repeatedly -- because she had said she'd go to bed early with him and didn't follow through.
(According to Theresa, who stays up late every night, she tried to go to bed with Gerry at 7:30PM but couldn't sleep and so she briefly woke up in attempt to get tired and then go back to bed).
"That night that I recounted before when he said, 'You lied to me, you lied to me. You never meant to go to sleep,' when we got back in bed, I said, 'Now that we're not mad at each other and now that we're talking like this, why do you never approach me for physical intimacy? Why do you never?'" Theresa alleged.
"He never did. There was a time when I hadn't seen him in so long. He didn't even reach out to kiss me, and it was a thing that he wasn't doing."

Theresa continued, "And he said, 'Well you're not' -- I don't want my grandsons to hear this."

Theresa, shifting gears, repeated how her perspective on sex is "quite the opposite" of Gerry's.
"So by the time he got to my house [a week after the wedding], I was just done with it. I was done. And he did try to do something, and I said, 'It's too little, too late. I just can't do this,'" Theresa shared.
Theresa admitted that she "wanted to feel desired" by her man.
"He said, 'Oh, you're blaming me?! You're blaming me?' And I said, 'Well, you know what? It's not like I'm not going to initiate it, but you're the man and I'm the woman, and I want to feel desired," Theresa explained.
"[I said], 'I want to feel like you want me.' I didn't say this, but I always felt desired by my husband. It was a thing. I always felt confident about that, and I didn't feel it from [Gerry] at all."
Theresa said she "didn't know why" Gerry was acting somewhat cold and distant from her.

Theresa explained how she didn't want Gerry to have to "force" himself to kiss her and touch her. She was also still reeling from the fact Gerry had allegedly called her names and criticized her.
Theresa also claimed Gerry completely fabricated the story about her forcing him to sleep on the couch at her house in New Jersey.
Theresa told a very different story of "what really happened" in a statement to EW.
"We slept together the first night in my very small bed. After my husband passed away, I moved out of the master bedroom into a smaller bedroom with a full-sized bed and I turned the master bedroom into an office," Theresa explained.
"That first night of Gerry's visit, I didn't sleep at all -- because I had been sleeping alone for nine years, and sharing a bed again takes some getting used to."

Theresa said the next morning, Gerry asked her how she had slept.
"I told him that I hadn't slept at all, and he offered to sleep on the couch going forward. I was extremely grateful and said, 'I promise you that when you come back, I will have a king-sized bed all set up in the master bedroom for us,'" Theresa recalled.
"After that visit, Gerry went back to Indiana, but we put our money together and I quickly went to work ordering a king-sized bed and all the linens for us to use."
Theresa said her daughter helped her assemble the bed once it arrived.
"My daughter and I put the entire bed together in a day and I sent Gerry photos of our progress. I was so happy that we now had a wonderful bed to sleep together in, but Gerry never returned," Theresa claimed.
Just a few short months after the pair tied the knot in January 2024, Gerry announced in April that he and Theresa were getting a divorce.

Gerry announced that he's engaged to Lana in early October, about six months after they had begun dating.
Gerry wrote all about the demise of his relationship with Theresa in his new book, which hit shelves on November 4.
Gerry claimed he felt "trapped" in his relationship with Theresa, whom he alleged went on The Golden Bachelor for the wrong reasons.
Theresa responded by saying all of Gerry's claims about her were "fiction" and she found his memoir hurtful and offensive.
