Trump fired the multi-platinum musician after he served as the project manager and his all-male Vortex team lost the season's second task, which required them to create a commercial for the company Neat with the intention of highlighting its service, progress and scanner for solving the problem of digital clutter.

Kevin volunteered to serve as the project manager since he knew the product well. On the other hand, former Kate Plus 8 star Kate Gosselin stepped up to serve as her all-female Infinity team's project manager without knowing anything about Neat because all the other women backed down from the leadership role.

During the task, Kevin and Lorenzo Lamas, a soap opera and former Leave it to Lamas star, clashed greatly with journalist and talk show host Geraldo Rivera.

Once in the boardroom, advisor Donald Trump Jr. revealed the Neat executives liked how the women effectively covered where the product is going now, however, their target audience was confusing.

The executives also thought the men's commercial was great because of comedian Gilbert Gottfried's performance, but it failed to feature the cloud slogan efficiently enough.

In the end, Infinity won and Kate received $40,000 for her charity Camp Barnabas, which sends mentally and physically handicapped children to camp.

Kevin ultimately decided to bring Geraldo and actor Ian Ziering back into the boardroom with him. Kevin worked closely with Lorenzo, the commercial's director, and Ian throughout the task, so he thought he could bring Ian back with him as an ally and advocate to hopefully make Trump get rid of Geraldo.

Kevin and Ian argued that Geraldo left necessary things out of the script he had written himself. Kevin said every time he would try to make a correction or add something that was missing, Geraldo would interrupt him and assure him everything was fine.

Ian asked Trump to fire Geraldo for being a detriment and disruption. Ian said Geraldo steam-rolled everything with his ideas.

Trump determined it was a mistake for Kevin to take someone back into the boardroom who didn't deserve to be there. He thought Kevin should have taken Lorenzo and Geraldo with him. Because Kevin tried to outsmart Trump, the boss fired him.
